Social Security Disability is adding Medicare as my son’s primary insurance, with Medicaid as secondary. therefore, I now, must identify a new primary physician that will accept Medicare for my mute son. I would prefer to hear from other parents as to why they like their chosen physician. Since my son is mute, there are some MD’s that don’t want to deal with him. Another parent with a mute son had nothing but arguments with Duke Health in Knightdale since their group of MD’s go by the textbook and DON’T want parental input. I’m really looking for a specific physician that is interested in working with an autistic mute. Autistic kids don’t follow normal sensory physiology and may need off-spec medications & interventions that some MD’s don’t want to risk trying.

my son is 28. He needs an adult family medicine MD. most pediatricians don’t want someone that old.
How old is your son ? Raleigh children and adolescent medicine will accept patients up to age 22.. We have been with them for years and have been very happy. And I ask a lot of questions! 🙂
