The ADA mandates that each public entity operating a fixed route transit system provide complementary Para-transit service to individuals whose functional disabilities prevent use of accessible fixed route bus and rail systems. Eligible users pay for Para-transit service with ART tickets, ($2.50 each), good for one trip, one way only. All trips must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. C-Tran – In August of 2001, the Town of Cary began the Door to Door Service System. This is specifically designed for residents who are 60 years of age or older, or for those who have a medical disability. Cary residents who meet the age or disability requirements are eligible to register for the Door to Door service. You can register for the service by going to one of the Senior Centers with a verification of medical condition. They will process the paperwork for a C-Tran ID Card. You can also buy tickets for the Door to Door service while you are there.  Click Here for the Website. Hover over the Door to Door drop down menu for the application and other information. Click here for the Door to Door Brochure. (The Town of Cary may be able to help with this expense.)

Go Triangle –  The fare and pass schedule can be found on their web site here. The discounted fare is available to Medicare card holders and passengers with disabilities. Acceptable proof of eligibility include: Discount ID card from GoTriangle, C-Tran, GoDurham, GoRaleigh, Chapel Hill Transit, or a VA disability card. The discounted fare is $1.00 and $1.25 for express routes. You can also buy passes at a discount at this site. A $50 pass will cost $40 and they mail it to you.
